EAE Barcelona examines the key drivers of the next wave of AI innovation
- Pep Martorell and Luis Pareras, partners at Invivo Partners, took part in a new edition of Petit Comitech to discuss investment opportunities in AI.

EAE Barcelona and Tech Barcelona held a new edition of Petit Comitech, the small-format event that brings together technology and business leaders to share knowledge and analyse trends transforming the business landscape. This session featured Pep Martorell and Luis Pareras, partners at Invivo Partners, who discussed the next wave of innovation driven by artificial intelligence and the factors that determine the potential of technology start-ups.
The event was held a year after the launch of Invivo Ventures AI, a €100 million fund created by Invivo Partners to invest in the next generation of startups working in the fields of artificial intelligence, science and advanced technologies.
The evolution of AI and its impact on businesses
In the session, attended by more than 15 MBA students from EAE Barcelona, Martorell and Pareras analysed the business and investment opportunities arising from the evolution of artificial intelligence. Key topics included Europe’s position in the race to develop foundation models, the impact of AI agents on the labour market and the pace at which these technologies are being adopted.
The event also provided an opportunity to discuss the main challenges associated with the evolution of AI and its application in fields such as healthcare and research. Within this context, the emergence of agents capable of operating autonomously opens up new possibilities for the application of artificial intelligence in businesses and the transformation of certain processes and functions.
Petit Comitech, a format for analysing emerging technology trends
Petit Comitech is an initiative by EAE Barcelona and Tech Barcelona that brings technology and business leaders together in a small-group format to promote dialogue and the exchange of knowledge and ideas.
This latest edition also provided an opportunity to explore the criteria investors use to identify projects with growth potential in a context shaped by the rapid evolution of artificial intelligence.
The event builds on previous Petit Comitech sessions and will continue over the coming months with new events focusing on emerging trends across the business and technology landscape.
