EAE Barcelona, part of the Planeta Formación y Universidades higher education network, celebrated the graduation of more than 2,000 undergraduate and master's students in a ceremony held at Palau Sant Jordi, attended by more than 6,000 guests.

With students from more than 95 countries, the graduating class reflects the international outlook and diversity that define the School. The ceremony was overseen by Carlos Fernández, the Executive Vice President of Grupo Planeta, and featured Josep Sánchez Llibre, the President of Foment del Treball and Vice President of the Spanish Confederation of Business Organisations (CEOE), as the patron of the graduating class.

Leading with purpose in a time of transformation

In his speech, Josep Sánchez Llibre encouraged graduates to embrace a style of leadership built on trust, responsibility and teamwork. "I have never seen leadership as a privilege. I have always seen it as a responsibility. A good leader is not someone who gets others to work for them, but someone who inspires people to work together towards a shared project."

The ceremony also featured speeches by Carlos Giménez, CEO of Planeta Formación y Universidades; Montserrat Civera, Academic Director of Planeta Formación y Universidades; José Luis Fernández, General Manager of EAE Barcelona; and Pilar Saura, Dean of EAE Barcelona.

In her speech, Pilar Saura highlighted the graduates' hard work and ability to adapt. "At a time of profound transformation, your ability to learn, collaborate and lead with purpose will be your greatest competitive advantage. From today onwards, you become part of a global community of more than 88,000 alumni, ready to make a positive impact wherever your professional journey takes you."

Montserrat Civera reminded the new graduates that "today, you are not saying goodbye to EAE Barcelona; you are entering a new stage as EAE alumni", encouraging them to maintain critical thinking and a strong ethical commitment in the face of the challenges posed by artificial intelligence.

EAE Barcelona launches the BRILLA Awards

The main new feature of the 2026 graduation ceremony was the launch of the BRILLA Awards, which are given in recognition of the undergraduate and master's students with the highest academic achievements in each graduating class.

With this initiative, the School reinforces its commitment to academic excellence, employability and the development of professionals equipped to succeed in an international, innovative and constantly evolving environment.

In this inaugural edition, the awards were presented to Laia Sugrañes Llaveria, from the Bachelor's Degree in Marketing and Digital Communication, and Carlos Ramos Ortega, from the Master in Big Data & Analytics.
