These disciplines play an essential role in industries such as manufacturing, automotive, telecommunications and energy.
  4. Mathematics provides the language used to model phenomena and analyze large amounts of information. Statistics, applied mathematics and operations research are fundamental to areas such as financial risk analysis, artificial intelligence and business process optimization.
