EAE Business School Barcelona celebrates the best female entrepreneurs in Catalonia with the EAE Top 10

Last night, in the Ágora Hall of the School’s Calle Aragó campus, EAE Business School Barcelona held an award ceremony for the 10 finalists of the EAE Top 10 Female Entrepreneurs in Catalonia ranking. In the presence of many of the members of the jury, who presented the awards to the winners, EAE Business School Barcelona, which forms part of Planeta Formación y Universidades, raised the visibility of these projects, all of which have a positive impact on society, whether it be through scientific progress, improving the quality of life of certain groups or creating a more sustainable society.

The ranking is headed by Susana Castel, the Co-Founder and CEO of FrontWave Imaging, a 3D imaging software that transforms the detection, screening and monitoring of breast cancer in a non-intrusive way. Castel collected her award from María Mora, the Director of Innovation at Foment del Treball, Catalonia’s leading employers’ federation.

Other entrepreneurs who made it onto the ranking and attended the award ceremony included Gemma Fàbregas, the Co-Founder and Director of the Socio-educational area of Diversity Apps  (2nd); María Jesús Salido, the CEO and Co-Founder of SocialDiabetes, who was unable to attend due to professional commitments, with the award being collected on her behalf by Víctor Bautista, her partner and Co-Founder of the winning venture (3rd); Bárbara Buades, the Co-Founder and CEO of Meetoptics (4th); María Berruezo, the Co-Founder of Lactapp  (5th); Patricia Aymà, the Founder, Executive President and CTO at Venvirotech and Noelia Márquez, the Co-Founder and CEO of Venvirotech  (6th); Celina Tamagnini, the Co-Founder & Business Development Director at Circoolar (7th); Sana Khouja, the CEO and Founder of Zeena (8th); Alba Garcia and Anna Cañadell, Co-Founders and Co-CEOs of Bcome (9th); and Diana Ballart, the CEO and Co-Founder of The Smart Lollipop (10th).

The top spot on the ranking, Susana Castel from FrontWave Imaging, shared her experience as an entrepreneur with all the attendees, after expressing her gratitude for the award. The Director of Innovation at Foment del Treball, Maria Mora, then went on to speak on behalf of the jury who picked the EAE Top 10 Female Entrepreneurs in Catalonia, formed by professionals from Acció/Gencat, Barcelona Activa and the Barcelona City Council, as well as from companies, associations in the entrepreneurial ecosystem, consultants, mentors, investors, influencers, specialist journalists and experts at EAE Business School Barcelona.

The General Director of EAE Business School Barcelona, José Luis Fernández, welcomed all the participants to the event, and the Director of Talent For Impact, Anna Boixader, brought the evening to a close.

EAE Top 10 Female Entrepreneurs is an initiative of the new Diversity and Gender Commission, within the framework of the EAE Business School Barcelona’s Sustainability Plan and the Women Initiative, which encompasses all the initiatives related to women with the aim of enhancing their visibility and empowering them.
