The international classification, which measures business schools’ commitment to sustainability, highlights the Sustainability Plan created by EAE Business School. The School has climbed a category to make it to level 4 in the rating: “Transforming School”

EAE Business School has been recognized by the Positive Impact Rating 2023 Report, a classification based on the students’ opinion  students of the commitment to sustainability of their business school. In this fourth edition, in which students from 71 business schools in 25 countries across 5 continents have taken part, EAE has been highlighted as a success story based on the creation of its Sustainability Plan.

Based on the overall score obtained by the schools, they are classified into the five levels of results, according to their social impact: Beginner, Emerging, Progressing, Transforming and Pioneering. This year, EAE Business School has climbed to Level 4: Transforming School.

The purpose of the Positive Impact Rating for Business Schools (PIR) is to measure how business schools create social impact through the dynamization of the school and its culture; teaching responsible leaders; and also being publicly engaged and a role model institution.

The survey that PIR conducts with the students contains 20 questions in 7 areas: the school’s governance and culture; programs, learning method and student support; the institution as a role model and its public engagement.

NEW SUSTAINABILITY PLAN

This year, EAE Business School has been highlighted as a success story in view of its commitment to training responsible leaders thanks to the recent creation of the School’s Sustainability Plan, directly linked to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG). Based on three key pillars, the Plan has been very well received and rated by the community of students at the School, as it promotes efforts to work towards a sustainable culture, leading the School to improve its position in the PIR 2023.

The People Impulse pillar accelerates the positive drive of the EAE community, which is a part of the school’s DNA integral to its dealings with all its stakeholders. It builds on a strong culture of diversity, with 70% international students from 103 countries, creating a multiplicity of ideas, origins and ways of life.

The Community Impact pillar fosters the positive impact of the student talent within the school, firstly in the classroom and later as EAE Alumni. This includes promoting innovative ideas with a positive impact on society and the planet. Within the framework of 4YFN (an event for startups at the Mobile World Congress), EAE organizes the Impact Awards, with the participation of over 80 high-impact entrepreneurial ventures from 12 countries around the world.

The Positive Relations pillar strives to boost social discussion and the creation of synergies between the key social agents to drive positive transformations. For example, at the 4YFN23, the school brought together our entrepreneurial alumni and students to showcase their talent in front of more than 88,000 attendees.

In collaboration with the Mobile World Capital and Digital Talent, EAE Business School Barcelona has also created the Accelerator Digital Program with the aim of promoting new international digital talent and responding to the new needs of the labour market in the field of digital marketing, big data and web development.

Implementing these three pillars includes ensuring that ESG criteria form an integral part of EAE’s educational experience and feature prominently in all challenges, hands-on activities, courses and bachelor and master theses. Moreover, sustainability in research is reflected by EAE leading the third edition of the Observatory of Sustainability in Ibero-America, tracking sustainability on both sides of the Atlantic.

Furthermore, EAE Business School has a high representation of women (53% of students and 40% of the faculty) and runs its own initiative to boost female talent: the Women Initiative EAE, which, each year, ranks the Top 10 female entrepreneurs in Catalonia to help destroy the gender gap in leadership.
