EAE Business School Barcelona and Unilever launch the first challenge for future Master students

The winners will receive a grant to cover 100% of the fees to study a Master at the School

EAE Business School Barcelona, owned by Planeta Formación y Universidades, and Unilever have joined forces to launch the Innovaction University Challenge 2023, the first edition of this event aimed at fourth-year undergraduate students who want to do a Master in the field of management. Participants in the challenge work in groups of three to resolve a real case for the Soy Frigo initiative, an innovation and sustainability project run by Unilever with the aim of enhancing the employability of people at greater risk of social exclusion.

"We are really pleased to be organizing this challenge in collaboration with Unilever and its Soy Frigo initiative", explained Enric Ordeix, the Dean of EAE Business School Barcelona. "It is  a great opportunity for students to work on a real case and showcase their skills to overcome challenges in such a vital area for companies nowadays sustainability. We look forward to seeing some innovative solutions and we hope the students really enjoy and learn from this experience", added the Dean.

Cristina Nadal, the National Director of the Soy Frigo Program and member of Unilever Spain’s Corporate Communication and Sustainability team explained that “we are thrilled to join forces with EAE Business School Barcelona. In our company, we have always been committed to promoting sustainability as an everyday goal and, to achieve this, creating alliances is essential". In this respect, she added that "Soy Frigo combines sales with purpose, social impact and environmental awareness, fostering sustainable development and innovation. Having talented and committed professionals focused on a shared challenge is a key factor".

The winning team will win a grant of 100% of the fees to take a specialist Master at the campus of EAE Business School Barcelona, while the first and second runners-up will respectively receive three grants of 50% and 25% of the fees of the Master of their choice.

Candidates can register for the latest edition until Friday 5th May on the School’s website. The final will be held on 13th May 2023 in the morning, at the Ágora Hall at the campus of EAE Business School Barcelona.

Each year, in collaboration with leading companies such as Glovo, Mattel and Nestlé, EAE Business School holds a Business Challenge every year, aimed at pre-university students to give them the opportunity to gain a first-hand experience of contributing towards resolving issues for companies renowned for their leadership and innovation. This year is the first time that EAE Business School Barcelona is launching a Business Challenge for undergraduates to win a grant for a specialist Master at the School.

WHAT IS SOY FRIGO?

Soy Frigo is an employability program run by Unilever to improve the employment prospects of people are greater risk of social exclusion through the sale of ice creams. It also works to educate on environmental values, promoting changes in consumption habits by getting ice cream consumers and restaurant and operators in the catering sector involved.

The program was created in 2014 as a pilot initiative before being rolled our permanently in 2015 thanks to the involvement of a diverse range of organizations. To date, the program has helped create over 6,000 jobs in Spain, operating in all the country’s Autonomous Communities.
